But she still managed to outlive him by a few years. She died at 4 a.m. on this day in 1909 at Little Midmill Crofters House, Kintore, Aberdeenshire, the home of her son Peter. She was 83 years old. She had had influenza for a month and then cardiac asthenia (an anxiety disorder) for three days
